Boozin it up this holiday season

Successful weight loss is all about burning calories. When my clients adopt a healthier lifestyle, they often ask if they can drink alcohol. I recommend choosing a low-calorie alcoholic drink such as a vodka club soda, mainly because it contains fewer alcohol calories than a margarita or alcoholic drinks mixed with juice or soda.
It’s important to know that drinking in excess while trying to lose weight or trim fat, has a far more damaging effect than you might realize. Alcohol reduces the number of fat calories you burn, and can increase your appetite for up to 24 hours after you finish drinking. YIKES!! It’s no wonder we want to dive into a greasy burger the day after drinking.

Alchol has about a 70% negative affect on your bodies ability to burn fat. So in essence 70% of all that hard work you put in at the gym was wasted because ya got wasted.

Alcohol switches our hormones to a more fat-storing, muscle-losing environment. It puts the body in a non-conducive state for fat burning and muscle building. It spikes insulin levels (which can lead to fat storage), where you continue to crave sugary drinks and junk food.

The more you indulge in alcohol, the more you reverse the hard work you’ve put into building a beautiful body.

Go easy on the booze this holiday season!
